This year will see the 445th help bring the downfall of Hitler's "Thousand-Year Reich". It won't be until almost mid April that they will suffer their last casualties.

On April 25, 1945, the 445th flies their 280th and last combat mission. In the weeks following, the ground personnel flew in one of two "trolley" missions (flights at low altitude over Germany) to see first-hand the destruction they helped the aircrews bring upon the enemy.
