Bombs On Target
The rings drawn on the photo were used to determine the percentage of bombs that fell within a certain distance from the aiming point (center of innermost circle). |

Giebelstadt Airfield
This was a good strike against the German airfield at Giebelstadt. A mix of General Purpose (GP) and fragmentation bombs would have been used. The GP bombs would crater the takeoff area and the fragmentation would have damaged aircraft and killed or wounded ground personnel. |

Orly Airfield
This was a strike on the German airfield at Orly, France. This was the airport that Charles Lindbergh landed at when he made his solo Atlantic crossing. The 445th lost one B-24 to a ground to air rocket (now called Surface to Air Missiles or SAMs). |
